Each piece with the factory mark in blue enclosing the date-letter E for 1758, adjacent to the painter’s mark of an anchor for Charles Buteux (active at Vincennes and Sèvres 1756-82). Each piece incised I.
This is a gobelet Bouillard et soucoupe of the first size decorated with the early bleu lapis ground colour and scenes of children in rural landscapes by the important Sèvres painter Charles Buteux.
