This is large first size example of gobelet Litron et soucoupe with bold gilding over the bleu nouveau ground colour and with an unusual feature of fine gilding inside the rim of the cup. With the factory mark and the gilder's mark B for Jean-Pierre Boulanger (active at Vincennes and Sèvres 1754-1785).
This is a large example of a gobelet Litron with dark blue ground and very striking gilding.
A soucoupe Litron of the first size with dark blue ground and ‘frize d’or Riche’ gidled by Boulanger appears in the kiln records in a firing on 14th May 1782 (see below).
A cup and saucer with a gilded border by Boulanger also incorporating birds flying is in the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, UK with the date letters for 1781.
