These are a pair of plateaux de sucriers made with matching large oval sugar bowls with low-domed covers.
There was evidently some commercial demand for sucriers of this size and decoration as we know a few examples with bleu lapis ground similar, some with painted bird decoration like these and some with gilded birds.
Similar examples are in the collection of the Dukes of Argyll at Blair Castle, Scotland, in the Art Institute of Chicago, USA and another was sold from the collection of the Marquess of Bath, Longleat House, in 2002.
