Literature
This soft-paste Sèvres soft-paste porcelain plate (assiette à palmes) bears the date letter R for 1770 and the painter's mark L for Denis Levé (active 1754-93, 1795-1805). The monochrome pink decoration with partly-gilded interlaced L's in the centre make it clearly to be an addition to the dinner service first-made for King Louis XV in 1757.
A large group of this service is today in the collections of the Château of Fontainebleau, mainly purchased in 1987.
