This soft-paste Sèvres soft-paste porcelain oval dish (compotier ovale) bears the date letter t for 1772, the painter's mark 6 for Bertrand (active 1757-75). The monochrome pink decoration with partly-gilded interlaced L's in the centre make it clearly to be an addition to the dinner service first-made for King Louis XV in 1757.
A large group of this service is today in the collections of the Château of Fontainebleau, mainly purchased in 1987.
